Selenium-fortified live yeast
INDeTOX™ is a poultry mycotoxin management additive developed by Biofactor Biologicals. It combines selenium-fortified live Saccharomyces cerevisiae and other yeast strains with HSCAS (hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate).

The selenium is incorporated into yeast cells during cultivation in selenium-enriched media, mainly as organic selenium such as selenomethionine.

Yeast degrades and detoxifies mycotoxins
- Live yeast breaks down mycotoxins into less toxic or non-toxic metabolites.
- This reduces the toxic load reaching the bird’s tissues.
HSCAS adsorbs mycotoxins
- HSCAS binds mycotoxins, especially aflatoxin B1, in the gastrointestinal tract.
- Bound toxins pass out in the excreta instead of being absorbed.
Selenium manages stress
- Organic selenium supports glutathione peroxidase (GPx), thioredoxin reductase and other selenoproteins.
- It helps the bird manage oxidative stress from mycotoxin exposure, heat, high stocking density and production demands.
- It protects the liver and kidneys.
Beta-glucans support immunity
- Yeast cell-wall beta-glucans prime and balance the immune response.
- They help counter the immunosuppression caused by mycotoxins and improve vaccine response.
Six toxins INDeTOX™ is designed to address
HSCAS mainly binds aflatoxin. The yeast fraction is meant to degrade and detoxify the other mycotoxins. How much it does so varies by toxin and must be confirmed through validation.
